Gabriela Loza (she/her) is a Mexican-American award winning filmmaker originally from Southern California.
Her short film ‘Erased’ has screened at 20 international film festivals, winning 14 awards and 10 nominations. She began her filmmaking journey in Hollywood, Ca. as a set painter/carpenter and prop fabricator eventually moving into production design.
Gabriela has lived down under for the last 12 years where she graduated from International Film School Sydney. As a queer woman of colour, Gabriela is interested in using her filmmaking to discover unheard stories and amplify Indigenous voices.
Gabriela is currently working on a short documentary about the Yarning Dome event happening at the Performance Arcade - in Feb. 2023, Wellington, New Zealand.
Gabriela is also in post production finishing her second short film , ‘Tattooed”. That she wrote and directed .
