
ERASED a short film

SYNOPSIS
Eric and Cate live and work on Mars and must fulfil their contract to the all-powerful Erasure Institute. Technology tracks their every word and action, while a mysterious humanoid voice directs their movements. The Erasure Institute promises to remove pain and suffering through a painless but permanent procedure, which is “encouraged and sometimes enforced.” Cate begins to believe that voluntary erasure is her only way out. Can love be erased?

Gabriela Loza is a Mexican-American award winning filmmaker originally from Southern California. She started in Hollywood as a set painter/carpenter and prop fabricator and moved into production design. Gabriela has lived in Australia for the last 10 years where she attended International Film School Sydney. Gabriela has a particular interest in genre films.
ERASED (short 2021) is Gabriela's first film as Director. To date it has screened at five international festivals including at Celludroid in South Africa, where it won ‘Best Live Action Short Film’, at Cryptic Minneapolis Shockfest (US), at Silbersalz Science and Media Festival in Germany, Short to the Point in Romania where it won ‘Best Sci-Fi Short’ and the Sci-Fi/Fantasy Film and Screenplay Festival - October 2021 in Los Angeles and Toronto where it was awarded ‘Best Film’
Gabriela is currently finishing, ‘Tattooed”, which is in Post Production. This is her second short film which she wrote and directed. She is also interested in developing Erased as a feature film.
